Airline says farting passenger did not cause evacuation

American Airlines has denied reports that a "passenger passing gas" caused the recent evacuation of a flight in the US. Passengers and crew members had complained of nausea and headaches, and an investigation by airport officials determined a flyer had farted. American Airlines said, "the plane is out of service for an actual mechanical issue and odour in the cabin."
