Airtel, Reliance in race to acquire 49% stake in Haier

Bharti Airtel founder Sunil Mittal, along with Warburg Pincus, is in advanced talks to buy a 49 percent stake in Haier India for $2 billion. The deal faces competition from Reliance and other investor groups. Meanwhile, Haier aims for strong India growth, targeting ₹11,500 crore revenue in 2025 and investing ₹1,000 crore in new manufacturing capacity.
