Akasa Air cancels 640 seats booked by agency despite taking 25% advance, ordered to pay ₹1 cr

A Delhi court ordered Akasa Air to pay ₹1.08 crore to a travel agency for cancelling its bookings of 640 seats on Delhi-Goa route in 2023. The agency had made 25% advance payment months before the travel date to capitalise on the predictable festive season demand. The airline said 50% advance payment was required to be paid by the agency.
