The terrorist attack on Akshardham temple in Gujarat's Gandhinagar took place on September 24, 2002. Two terrorists entered the temple complex and used automatic weapons and hand grenades to kill over 30 people and injure more than 80. Both the terrorists, identified as Ashraf Ali Mohammed Farooq and Murtuza Hafiz Yasin, were later killed by the National Security Guard commandos.
