Alibaba lays off 40% of AliExpress Russia staff amid war: Report

China's Alibaba has laid off about 40% of AliExpress Russia staff amid the ongoing Ukrainian war, the Nikkei reported. Some of the laid-off staff chose to leave voluntarily and a few relocated. The firm's commercial division was hit the hardest due to the layoffs. AliExpress Russia is a joint venture launched in 2019 by Alibaba and Russian partners.
