Alibaba makes $38.4 billion sales in 24 hours on Singles' Day, breaks record

Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba generated a record $38.4 billion (₹2.7 lakh crore) in its Singles' Day sales, showing a 25% jump from last year. In 2018, Alibaba had recorded $30.7 billion sales, while in 2017 it had posted $25.3 billion sales. It took Alibaba exactly 68 seconds for Singles' Day sales to hit the $1 billion mark this year.
