Alibaba was one of Son's greatest bets, says Alok Sama

On the podcast, former SoftBank president Alok Sama pointed to Alibaba as one of Masayoshi Son's greatest calls. By backing "the Amazon of China" early, Son turned a $20 million investment into a gain of "$72 billion", Sama said. He cited it alongside ARM as proof of Son's rare ability to see the future of technology before others.
