All-female refereeing trio officiates men's FIFA World Cup match for 2nd time in history
An all-female on-field refereeing trio officiated a men's FIFA World Cup match for the second time in history during Czechia's clash against South Africa. US officials Tori Penso, Brooke Mayo and Kathryn Nesbitt took charge of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Group A match. The first such instance came in 2022, when Stephanie Frappart-led team officiated Germany-Costa Rica match.
