Allahabad HC allows carbon dating of 'Shivling' at Gyanvapi mosque

The Allahabad High Court has allowed the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to conduct carbon dating of a structure inside the Gyanvapi mosque in UP's Varanasi that the Hindu side has claimed is a 'Shivling'. The court, however, said no damage should be done to the structure. Carbon dating is a method applied to establish the age of organic material.
