Allow Turkey to join EU's $176 billion defence programme: Erdogan

Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan urged all 32 NATO member states to lift defence industry trade restrictions on the country so it may participate in EU's $176 billion Security Action for Europe (SAFE) initiative. Turkey is eligible for the initiative but has faced restrictions from Europe over its ties to Russia. This comes ahead of NATO's summit on July 7-8.
