Al-Qaeda in Indian Subcontinent only capable of small-scale attacks: US
Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) is "probably only capable of small-scale regional attacks", US' National Counterterrorism Center Director Christopher Miller said. The AQIS has "struggled to rebound" from its leader Asim Umar's death in a US military raid in Afghanistan last year, he added. Al-Qaeda's presence in Afghanistan has been reduced to a few dozen fighters, Miller further said.
