Maruti Suzuki Alto has reportedly overtaken the now phased-out Maruti M800 as the most sold car model in India. Alto, which was launched in September 2000, has clocked cumulative sales of 29,19,819 units till October 2015. Concurrently, Maruti M800 had sold 28 lakh units cumulatively from its launch in December 1983 till its production was stopped in January 2014.
