Amazon, Flipkart fined ₹10 lakh each for sale of unregistered chemical

Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) fined Amazon and Flipkart ₹10 lakh each and JioMart ₹5 lakh for selling an unregistered agro-chemical product 'Cyclosinone Herbicide'. CCPA directed the platforms to submit compliance reports within 15 days of the order. The fine came after the Agriculture Ministry informed CCPA that the product's sale bypassed mandatory safety and legal checks.
