Amazon 'silent sacking' employees in 5 phases, claims ex-employee

A former software engineer at Amazon Web Services, who quit due to the company's return-to-office mandate, has claimed the recent work-from-office rule has a lot to do with "reducing headcount without causing a massive tax liability". John McBride explained the "five phases of silent sacking" purportedly being practised by Amazon. McBride said the first phase was laying off 30,000 employees.
