Amazon, which started by selling books, found destroying rare books for AI

Amazon is buying large quantities of old, rare books and destroying them while scanning their contents to train AI, according to an investigation by 404 Media. A hidden AirTag placed inside an order for around 1,000 books revealed that the consignment reached an Amazon facility housing the book-scanning project "VGT3". Notably, Amazon initially started as an online marketplace for books.
