Amazon blocks 1,800 North Korean IT applicants over money laundering concerns

Amazon has blocked over 1,800 North Korean IT applicants from joining amid money laundering and cybersecurity concerns. The tech giant has seen nearly 30% yearly jump in North Korean applicants seeking remote jobs. "Their objective is typically straightforward: get hired, get paid, and funnel wages back to fund the regime's weapons programs," said Amazon's Chief Security Officer Stephen Schmidt.
