Amazon cuts jobs in its Artificial General Intelligence division

Amazon has laid off employees in parts of its Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) division as part of reorganisation of its AI efforts. The number of affected employees was not disclosed. AGI refers to a hypothetical form of AI that is designed to perform any intellectual task a human can. The company had previously laid off around 16,000 employees in January.
