Amazon, Flipkart urge govt to allow sale of non-essential items during lockdown

Amazon and Flipkart have asked the government to allow them to sell non-essential items during the lockdown. Amazon urged to let e-commerce players participate in fighting the coronavirus pandemic and has promised safe delivery while ensuring social distancing. Meanwhile, Flipkart said that "e-commerce can support in easing the burden of piled up inventory of MSMEs" and deliver products safely.
