Amazon leads $12 mn investment in Mumbai insurance startup

US-based e-commerce giant Amazon has led a $12 million funding round in Mumbai-based online insurance startup Acko. New investor Ashish Dhawan and existing investor Catamaran Ventures, owned by NR Narayana Murthy, also participated in the funding round. Founded in 2017, Acko offers general insurance products and has raised $42 million to date including the latest funding.
