Amazon's $50 bn OpenAI investment may depend on IPO or AGI: Report

Amazon's plans to invest up to $50 billion in OpenAI may depend on the AI developer pursuing an IPO or it reaching artificial general intelligence(AGI) milestone, The Information reported. The report added $15 billion of the investment would be paid upfront. Earlier, reports said OpenAI is preparing for an IPO that could value the company at up to $1 trillion.
