Amazon's mistakenly sent layoff email had 'Project Dawn' in subject line

Amazon on Tuesday mistakenly sent an email to Amazon Web Services cloud-computing employees about layoffs planned for Wednesday. The subject line of the accidental email read "Project Dawn". Amazon announced layoffs affecting as many as 16,000 corporate jobs. Notably, it laid off about 14,000 people in October as part of a broader plan to reduce corporate staff by around 30,000.
