Amazon's MTurk, once key to AI training, winds down ops due to AI

Amazon will stop accepting new customers for its Mechanical Turk (MTurk) crowdsourcing service from July 30, though existing customers can continue using it. MTurk lets businesses outsource microtasks such as market research and data cleaning to human workers and provided early data for AI training. However, AI advancements have sharply reduced demand for repetitive human tasks MTurk once powered.
