Amazon to spend nearly $100 billion on AI-driven plans this year

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said the company will increase its capital expenditure to $100 billion in 2025. The e-commerce major spent $26.3 billion in capex in Q4 of 2024. Jassy said the "vast majority" of this year's capex spend will be on AI for Amazon Web Services, adding that AI is a "once-in-a-lifetime type of business opportunity".
