Amazon tribe sues The New York Times for claiming they got 'addicted' to porn
The Amazonian Marubo tribe filed a defamation suit against The New York Times, seeking $180 million (over ₹1,500 crore), over a report allegedly labelling them as 'porn addicts'. The American daily had falsely claimed the remote tribe's youngsters were addicted to porn after getting internet through Elon Musk's Starlink. It attacked the tribe's character, morality, social standing, the suit said.
