American Express CEO Kenneth Chenault to exit after 16 years

American Express on Wednesday announced that its Chairman and CEO Kenneth Chenault would step down after a 16-year term as the CEO. He will be succeeded by Vice Chairman Stephen Squeri, who has been at the company for three decades, effective February 1, 2018. Chenault will be retiring after a 37-year career with the company.
