Americans spent ₹10,000,000,000,000 on lottery tickets in 2025

Americans spent over $109 billion (over ₹10 lakh crore) on lottery tickets last year, investor and writer Charlie Bilello wrote in a blog. This is more than what Americans spent on movies, books, concerts and sports tickets combined. Reacting to his blog, a social media user said, "Can't win the lottery if you don't buy a ticket."
