Amid Iran conflict, Trump plans $1.5 trillion military budget for 2027

Amid the ongoing conflict with Iran, US President Donald Trump announced plans to increase US military spending to $1.5 trillion in 2027. He said the move would help create jobs and strengthen national defence. Meanwhile, a report by the Center for American Progress said the US military campaign against Iran had cost over $100 billion by June 2026.
