Amid Omicron fears, Canada advises against international travel

The Canadian government on Wednesday advised its residents to avoid international travel, amid fears surrounding the global spread of the new Omicron variant of COVID-19. "I say very clearly, now is not the time to travel," Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos said. He added that there is clear evidence of community transmission of the new Omicron variant in the country.
