Amid Omicron fears, Sweden to implement new COVID-19 restrictions

The Swedish government on Tuesday said it will impose new COVID-19 restrictions, amid fears of the highly contagious Omicron variant. New measures include limiting private gatherings to 50 people, requiring vaccine passes for public events of more than 500 people and seated-only service at bars and restaurants. Sweden imposed the wearing of masks on public transport earlier this month.
