President Pranab Mukherjee Wednesday conferred Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civilian award, on Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan. Nuclear scientist MR Srinivasan and advocate KK Venugopal were also honoured with the award for their work in science and public affairs respectively. Furthermore, filmmaker Jahnu Barua was given Padma Bhushan. The awards were announced on Republic Day 2015.
