Amitabh was the first choice for Anil's role in 'Mr. India'

Actor Anil Kapoor's role in the 1987 film 'Mr. India' was initially offered to Amitabh Bachchan. Talking about the film, Anil had once said, "Mr. India gave the world a taste of his (director Shekhar Kapur's) genius and it gave me a friend for life." Also known for films like 'Ram Lakhan', 'Tezaab' and 'Beta', Anil turned 61 on Sunday.
