Amritpal Singh to contest Lok Sabha polls as Independent: Mother

Waris Punjab De head Amritpal Singh will contest the Lok Sabha elections from Punjab's Khadoor Sahib Lok Sabha seat as an independent candidate, his mother Balwinder Kaur said. "Amritpal knows the issues of Punjab very well and this election will be fought on those issues," she said. Singh is currently lodged in an Assam jail under the National Security Act.
