Amritsar SSP suspended over ₹55-crore tender irregularities

The Punjab government has suspended Amritsar Vigilance SSP Lakhbir Singh over alleged irregularities reportedly involving around ₹55 crore in the tenders related to development works in the Ranjit Avenue area. Social activist Mandeep Mann has also been booked in connection with the case. A probe found misappropriation of infrastructure funds, and further investigations are ongoing.
