Amul Girl 'wept' for 1st time on Dr Kurien's death

The Amul Girl was seen weeping for the first time in an advertisement released following the death of founder Verghese Kurien on September 9, 2012. The caption on the advertisement read "Thank You For Giving us Hausla, Pragati & Anand." Dr Kurien spearheaded Operation Flood to transform India from being a milk-deficient country to being the world's largest milk producer.
