Amway takes Flipkart to court for illegal sale of its goods

US-based direct selling company Amway has taken Flipkart to court for selling Amway's products ‘illegally’ on its platform. It alleged that Flipkart violated India’s guidelines that mandate e-commerce companies to seek permission from direct-selling companies like Amway to list such products online. Amway added it had sent notices to Flipkart asking it to bar such sellers but received no response.
