Andhra Cabinet urges Centre to name Amaravati official capital

The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, led by CM N Chandrababu Naidu, approved a proposal to urge the Union government to amend the State Reorganisation Act, 2014, to officially designate Amaravati as the state capital. The amendment to Subsection (2) of Section 5 aims to prevent future capital relocation. The meeting was held on May 8 at the Velagapudi Secretariat.
