Andhra govt's diversion of disaster funds 'serious' matter: SC

The Supreme Court on Wednesday said that the Andhra Pradesh government's decision of diverting ₹1100 crore from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) to finance the state's subsidy scheme for farmers was a "serious" matter. "The money meant for disaster relief cannot be used for any other purpose," a bench of Justices MR Shah and BV Nagarathna remarked.
