Andhra launches AI app to measure newborns without touching

The Andhra Pradesh government plans to deploy Shishu Maapan, an AI-powered application to record key health measurements of newborns without physical contact. Using the app, ASHA workers can capture measurements by simply placing a smartphone near an infant, eliminating the need for weighing scales. The system is already being used to track the data of 1,000 newborns in Mangalagiri constituency.
