Andhra Pradesh starts survey to protect rare Peacock Tarantula

The Andhra Pradesh Forest Department has initiated a conservation status survey of the rare Peacock Tarantula in the Nagarjunasagar Srisailam Tiger Reserve. "A rare jewel of the Eastern Ghats is finally getting the attention it deserves," Andhra Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan's office said. The critically endangered arachnid belongs to a small region of the Eastern Ghats in Andhra Pradesh.
