Android phones alert users seconds before US earthquake; Pichai shares screenshot

Android smartphone users in California were on Tuesday alerted of an earthquake seconds before it happened. US researchers developed the 'MyShake' app for such alerts, however, in 2020, Google began using the technology to directly send alerts to Android devices in California. Sharing the alert's screenshot, Google CEO Sundar Pichai tweeted, "The alert came just before...hope everyone is ok."
