A poll by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners has found that the Google Android platform grabbed the majority (53%) of mobile phones in the US market in early 2014. Apple's iOS accounted for 42%, while Windows and BlackBerry devices each accounted for 1%. Recent surveys of global phone users show Android has a nearly 80% share of smartphone sales.
