Andy Burnham secures 80% Labour MP votes to replace UK PM Starmer

Andy Burnham received approval from 322 out of 403 Labour MPs to replace UK PM Keir Starmer at the end of the first day of the party's leadership contest. Burnham thanked party members for their support and said this "reflects a shared belief that Britain needs a new approach to politics". The leadership contest will end on July 17.
