Angela Merkel elected as German Chancellor for 4th time

Germany's Parliament on Wednesday re-elected Angela Merkel as the country's Chancellor for the fourth time in a row, putting an end to nearly six months of absence of government in the country. Merkel, who has led the country since 2005, is Germany's eighth incumbent leader and could become its longest-serving Chancellor after successful completion of her fourth term in 2022.
