Studio Ghibli, the Japanese animation studio known for movies like 'Spirited Away', 'My Neighbor Totoro' and Director Hayao Miyazaki, will be acquired by Nippon Television Holdings through its subsidiary Nippon TV. The network will make Ghibli a subsidiary and hold 42% voting rights. Nippon TV, which has financed Ghibli films since 1985, didn't disclose the acquisition amount.
