Antarctica's oldest ice cores sent to Europe for climate study

Scientists from Beyond EPICA project have extracted Antarctica's oldest ice cores from 2,800 meters deep, revealing climate data over 1.2 million years. The cores were transported to European labs for analysis. This effort, funded by the European Commission, aims to reconstruct historical atmospheric temperatures and greenhouse gas concentrations, offering insights into Earth's climate history.
