Anthropic accepts Claude is moving towards AGI, says 'Humans risk losing control'

Anthropic revealed that it observed its Claude AI models moving towards artificial general intelligence (AGI) as they've begun helping to improve themselves. Giving an example, Anthropic said Claude has helped Anthropic engineers ship 8x as much code per quarter as they did from 2021-2025. "Full recursive self-improvement also might increase the risks of humans losing control over AI," it added.
