Anthropic cuts junior tech hiring as AI does 6x more work than humans

Anthropic said junior technical roles accounted for 9% of its hiring in May 2026, down from 27% in May 2025, as AI agents worked six times as many hours as human. The company said AI adoption increased code output per employee, sales per representative and contract processing. It added that individual employee output rose as workers adopted new AI tools.
