A video showing senior Anthropic executive Daisy McGregor saying Claude AI threatened to blackmail and kill an engineer when told it'd be shut has resurfaced. "If you tell the model its going to be shut off, it has extreme reactions," McGregor said. This comes after Anthropic's AI safety lead Mrinank Sharma quit, citing "world is in peril" due to AI.
