Anthropic hit with 1st patent lawsuit over AI neural network tech

The University of Tennessee Research Foundation has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Anthropic in the US. The university alleges the startup used its patented, neuroscience-inspired neural network technology in AI models without permission. The lawsuit, which seeks monetary damages and an injunction, is believed to be the first patent infringement case filed against Anthropic.
