Anthropic has launched Claude Opus 5, a new AI model for everyday tasks that delivers near-frontier intelligence close to its most powerful model, Claude Fable 5, at half the price. It features adjustable reasoning effort settings, including low, high and max, to optimise speed and cost. However, it remains behind Mythos 5 on cybersecurity tasks.
